		<description>Hello Debbie,
Thank you for writing but I&#039;m sure you realize I can&#039;t answer health questions if you aren&#039;t a client.
However, in my experience, intestinal yeast overgrowth can be a trigger for symptoms of colitis.
I also work with the diet by Elaine Gottshall&#039;s Breaking the Vicious Cycle. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/

And here is my FAQ about mag oil.
Magnesium Oil and Gel. When I first wrote The Magnesium Miracle, I realized that many people can’t take oral magnesium because of the laxative effect. Therefore I began researching and then advising people to put supersaturated magnesium chloride—called magnesium oil on their skin to bypass the intestines; stimulate DHEA production that occurs in the skin; use it in baths and foot baths for muscle aches, joint pain, and foot pain and neuropathy. You can find out more about magnesium oil at www.globallight.net. Dilute 50:50 with distilled water or coconut oil and apply 1-2 tsp on your skin every day. OR you can apply 50:50 diluted mag oil with distilled water all over your body and leave on for at least 30 minutes, then shower off because it gets itchy when the mag oil dries. One ounce of oil is a good amount to put in a bath.
I hope all this helps.
Aloha

		<description>Hi Dr Dean

I have a question for you, I have ulcerative colitis and I follow Jini Patel Thompsons protocols from Listen To Your Gut and am going along fine with of course ups and downs and I currently take a tablet which is combined of Magnesium, Calcium and Vitamin D3 - is this good to take ?? I take this every 2-3 days as I know that just magnesium can cause diarrhea which I don&#039;t need. So I decided to order Magnesium Bath Crystals &amp; Oil from Global Light and was wondering how often can I use this in a bath as I have a bath every night ?? and how often do I put the oil on my body ?? I have used the oil and I have a few tingles when I first put it on which subsides in 30 seconds to a minute - does this mean that I am deficient ???

I do sometimes think I have a yeast infection where my tongue gets a white coating on it and sometimes vaginal thrush.

I just want to make sure I am on the right track and getting the right dose of magnesium for my body, any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

		<description>Hello Deborah,
Ionic magnesium is probably better absorbed than most minerals.

Here is what Joseph Marion says about angstrom minerals.
&quot; Most minerals [from food] are 8-12% absorbable, Chelated Minerals are 40% absorbable, and liquid Angstrom Minerals are 99% absorbable, being 7000 times smaller than Red blood cells, 1 Million times smaller than a colloidal Mineral, smaller than Ionic, with negative-charge for added absorption.&quot; (Joseph B. Marion; Anti-aging Manual)

<description>Thank you Suz for recommending The Magnesium Miracle for Hawthorn University for Holistic Nutrition.
The more practitioners that know about magnesium, the better.

		<description>Hi Dr. Dean,
I noticed that you were on line a few minutes ago...Hope to catch you with a quick question.
My local health food store has your book on order. I am very much looking forward to receiving it and do have a question asked earlier in the blog. Can you share the best magnesium to be taking. Presently I am purchasing the Liquid Magnesium Ionic. Thanks so much. I will look forward to your thoughts.

Cheers,

		<description>Hello Linda,
The one I like is an angstrom form of magnesium. But Liquid Ionic may be similar, so see how you feel on it. Relief of symptoms, better energy and better sleep are your best guide.
Aloha

		<description>Hello Martie,
Mag chloride or mag citrate are very similar in their effects. If the mag chloride was less acidic for you then maybe you should go back to it.
Aloha

<description>Dr. Dean: Isn&#039;t this wonderful - the response you&#039;re getting on this site? I find I am learning so much by reading other people&#039;s questions and your answers.
I discovered magnesium several years ago after suffering from restless legs since a child (now 76). I have been taking magnesium chloride (made by a compounding drug store) and would take it with calcium before bed, which seemed to work out well. Just now I switched to magnesium citrate (Easy - 100% Natural and Vegan), after talking to people at the Whole Health Show in Toronto. I&#039;m finding it very acidic and am having trouble drinking it and definitely not at night. I&#039;ve tried mixing in rice milk, but still taste the acidity. I&#039;m wondering what suggestions you might have and is this a good one to be taking?</description>

		<description>Hi Dr. Dean,

In the near future, I plan to purchase the Magnesium Miracle book. Wondered if you could share what brand of Magnesium you recommend. I have just started taking it and the brand available in Calgary, Canada is Magnesium Liquid Ionic. Looking forward to your thoughts.
Thanks so much and Season&#039;s Greetings!
