Hi Chris,
Good question. One point about eating a raw food diet is to keep the temperature of foods below about 110-120 degrees F. Below that temp, enzymes in foods are still alive and kicking and ready to digest. The stomach NEVER reaches that temperature.

Hi Dr Dean,

I have a quick question. If our stomach cooks everything we eat, what is it specifically that raw foods contribute which is seen as more healthy for us?

Thanks much, love your work...

Hi Kate,
I'm glad you finally got it. You can always go to my home page for the latest post.
Some people are cutting back on the amount of salt but otherwise it's getting great reviews!
Aloha

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your post.
LOVING what you eat is almost as important as what you eat!
Who wants to feel like you have to eat bland and unappetizing...but healthy food.
I want to eat tasty, exciting, lip smacking AND healthy food!
I like your ATTITUDE with GRATITUDE!
Aloha

Nutty seed pâté sounds yummy, I have been munching every morning Food Dr Seed mix every morning, maybe some of these seeds may be good in the recipe, oh and the IBS book is a great read. I must admit though I have a greasy spoon breakfast every morning. I feel the seeds are definitely regulating my enthusiasm in all different similar situations which again is very cool. Looking forward to buying a big bag of almonds this week from the local Turkish supermarket. Yup Dr. Dean I do love me grub. :)

Hi John,
Thanks for your comment. I found it much easier to eat mostly raw in Maui because of the temperature and availability of locally grown produce. But I still have to watch the fruit intake. If I eat too much fruit it does stir up the yeast!
Aloha

While I'll eat more raw food in the summer, during most of the year in Canada I've found I feel much better with cooked food. Still plenty of fruits and vegetables -- just in soups, stews, baked or steamed. It'll be interesting to see how my wife, son and I feel like eating more raw food when we move to Ecuador.

Not to say that raw food isn't more natural. But humans were hardly meant to live in such cold climates so I figure some adjustments must be made.
