The first patient I treated for cancer decided not to undergo chemotherapy. He did have surgery to remove the tumor in his colon. Afterward he wanted to stick to natural therapies.

I recommended the basics. We cleaned up his diet and took him off wheat, dairy and sugar – which can drag down the immune system.

Next, I recommended he drink Essiac tea.

For several years, I followed his progress. He saw a full recovery. His post-surgery roommate, who simply went with chemotherapy, died soon after.

Essiac was likely not the sole reason for his recovery. It does, however, have quite a history of success. Yet, even today, it suffers unwarranted suppression and little mainstream investigation.

The herbal formula is named after the Canadian nurse, Rene Caisse (pronounced “reen case”) who formulated it in1920. Essiac is merely Caisse spelt backwards. The recipe is reportedly passed down by an Ojibwa medicine man.

This herbal infusion has recently been highlighted in the news with the case of Daniel Hauser avoiding chemotherapy. Daniel’s situation, likewise, has brought attention back to Billy Best, who used Essiac to help cure his cancer 15 years ago.

Cancer Remedy Growing Wild
In Ontario Outback

Portrait of Canadian Ojibway Indian medicine man (from www.essiac-herbal.com). The recipe for Essiac tea originated among the Canaidan Ojibway who introduced it to Rene Caisse in 1920.

While we call it a tea, only a few hundred years ago it would have been called a “potion.” Just look at its ingredients which grow freely in the Ontario wilderness…

American Cancer Society
Recognizes It’s Reputation, Yet…

According to the American Cancer Society the herbal formula has no serious side effects. They also, strangely, admit: “Although there have been many testimonials, there have been no clinical trials testing the effectiveness of Essiac.”

The real question here is why haven’t they put Essiac on any clinical trials since its discovery 88 years ago? Are they concerned that a proper clinical trial would prove it effective and take profits away from mainstream treatments?

Next post, I’ll tell how Rene Caisse discovered the formula and how the Canadian government arrested her for using it on cancer patients (with great results). I’ll also let you know the best place I’ve found to get Essiac tea.

As my first cancer patient realized, there are many ways to treat cancer. Chemotherapy is simply the most “popular” option. And, as with anything mainstream, the “popular” option is often the result of mass manipulation for the sake of profit.

The most wonderful point coming out of Daniel Hauser’s case? It’s making the general public aware more options exist other than what their oncologist may present them with.

  2. Thank you Dr. Dean for mentioning Billy Best, Daniel Houser, and Essiac. I was so glad to hear of it on the natural news site too. I’m really saddened by the Daniel Houser case and seeing that poor boy have to go through chemo, which lessen his chances for longer survival. I hope other doctors will speak up as well, such as Mercola, etc. and this may be an opportunity to teach more people that they are being duped by thinking that chemo and mainstream are the only options, and in fact learn that they actually kill them.
I read your book Magnesium Miracle and I have been a fan of yours ever since. Thank you.

  4. A girlfriend read about mercury, had it removed from teeth and replace w/ other filling. I went to the same doctor who wouldn’t talk on it, and pull some of my teeth which didn’t even bother me.
i refused but eventually gave in. never got to finish dental svc. he resigned partnership from the office, now i feel stuck w/o medical insurance. just use baking soda & peroxide. if not mouth will bother me after a couple weeks. he also didn’t think i needed to change fillings. but i guess how do you explain to insurance refilling. my friend had money.

  6. Great post a cancer cure and from a nurse who’s name is written backwards fascinating. The tribe of Indians who concocted this one are very advanced. Slippery Elm Tea is in my cupboard one of it’s ingredients is some sort of marshmellow root and also has a ligorice flavour to take the edge of the slippery elm. As for the ruhbarb well ruhbarb pie and custard is yummy. Which makes me think could you not just encorporate these ingredients into your meal. Or just gather then from cheaper alternatives to propogate a healthy colon? Yep this blog is great. thanks Carolyn

  14. This is a great cancer solution and so is attending Hippocrates or Optimum Health Centers to learn how to eat raw from Brian Clement and his staff.

It’s sad that that the American Cancer Society is so money-hungry that they won’t endorse any solution that won’t make them a ton of bucks. The FDA, Big Pharma and all of our representatives are in on this too.

Thank goodness for people like Carolyn, Mike Adams, Joe Mercola, Harvey Diamond of Fit for Life and other alternative practitioners who actually get that cancer is really the body’s last attempt to get us to take care of our bodies.

  18. My first experience with herbal medicine was with my son’s Cat. The cat was 15 years old and developed a tumor between the shoulder blades just below the back of the neck. The cat could no longer walk. My son went to the health food store with a book on Flo-essence tea. This is a knock off Tea based on the original Essaic 4 herb tea. Flor-essennce contains seven herbs. My son forced fed the tea to the cat several times daily.
after only one day the tumor began to soften. in following days it flattened out. By day 4 the fur over that area fell out. the following day the skin split, it looked like it was a precission surgical cut. Fluid then drained out and then the wound closed back up. it took longer for the fur to grow back than anything else. The cat lived another 4 years before being killed by a dog. This may have only been a cyst and not cancer, but who cares, it worked. I raise Siberian Huskies and had a female that the vet said would not live for two more weeks due to a uterus problem. The dog was only 7 years old and she not only refuse to eat she would not even drink water. My son forced fed her first Flor-essence tea and then raw liver and raw fresh garlic. The Vet was austounded when I brought her back to vet 3 years latter. Since then we have used that tea successfully on a half dozen animal. Here is some basic information on Heral medicine. Herbal teas are the weekest form of herbal medicine. Taking the whole herbal combination in capsuels is geberally considered to be 4 times stroger than the tea. Taking herbal tinctures are 10 times more effective than the tea. If there are digestive problems that hinder the absorbtion of nutrients, then the tea would be better than the whole herb, but the tincture still reigns supreme. Because of my experiences, I have gone from being the owner of a machine shop to become a Master Herbalist and a student of Natural Health
