Hello Caralynn,
Most people in nursing homes need magnesium, iodine (Iodorol), and all the antifungals you mentioned. I can't tell you whether it will be OK or not to use the supplements you suggested with your Mom.
Even with all the meds be prepared to be accused of causing side effects when you start using natural supplements.
When family is put in this terrible position, I just tell them to go slowly and watch improvements happen and try to get the doctors to cut back on the meds.
Magnesium is the safest and most beneficial supplement to introduce first.
Aloha

I got your link from knowthecause.com it is very informative. My question is I have a mom that is in the nursing home and her doctors don't believe in supplements much less fungus in the intestinal tract even though after being scoped the doctor said she has yeast all the way down her esphogal tract? My question is would it be okay to give her olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, garlic, fish oil, probotics etc, She takes meds for numerous health issues, diabetes which is out of control and docs says its fine in the 200s and 300s?? Heart problems, (angina), anxiety, (Takes paxil, zanac, and remeron. Whoa right!! Takes digoxin, and drinks pepto, mylanta like its going out of style, takes advair because can't breath. She currently is being treated for c.diff. Her stomach really hurts, I think all the meds and intestinal fungus are to blame, tried to get doc to prescribe nystatin but he won't. Any suggestions I (she) needs help, I really think they are trying to kill her. She is 78 yrs old. Please Help!!

Hi Michelle,
I usually work with apple cider vinegar, DGL Licorice, and hydrochloric acid.
Candida toxins include gases from alcohol and acetaldehyde and they can "rise to the top" and cause heartburn and gastric distress.
Let us know how it goes.
Aloha

To Dr. Dean

Can you point me in the right direction as far as inforamtion on stomach motility goes? Many years ago I had a serious bout of delayed emptying that went away after a year. Occassionally my stomach felt slow only if i ate too much fat or grease mostly. Recently though another bout of this that has gone on for days. Seemed to to happen after an intense session of doing enemas as is part of my candida treatment. After doing the enemas I felt very toxic and I knew I stirred stuff up. Could candida toxins be to blame? Any advice? I went thru a battery of tests years ago, it was torture. Doctors don't help much with this. I could probably persaude a script for Reglan , I really do not want to take drugs.

Thank you, Dr. Dean. I will check out Dr. Young and alkaline drops. The herbalist whose preparation I'm using---I call it Love Potion # 9 because it contains 9 herbs---is Angelo Druda, author of The Tao of Rejuvenation, at Traditional Botanical Medicine. And I grow a variety of greens, so no shortage this time of year. I look forward to your yeast program, which may require more changes.

Thanks for all the comments on yeast. It's sad to see so many people still suffering from yeast overgrowth. I think once my health program is up and running, I'll have to focus on a yeast program to make it easier for folks to deal with it.
Aloha

Hello Larry,
Dr. Robert O. Young is probably the reigning guru of acid/alkaline, you can google him and see what he has to say.
I think being alkaline is very important. But following it with measuring urine and saliva with pH paper is like chasing the wind because it changes with everything you do or eat or drink. But in your case where acid will irritate your stricture and alkaline will not, then it's a worthy pursuit to follow an alkaline diet and maybe take alkaline drops for your water. And then, the proof is in the pudding!
Aloha

Hello Richard,
I have no experience using phosphatidylserine. But what I do know is that the medical model of finding one drug that will "cure" a person neither works in medicine or in natural medicine. When a "cure" happens it's usually a combination of events and substances including some change in attitude in the individual. When someone improves for a combination of reasons, often the last thing they took becomes the "reason". Knowing this, I encourage people not to chase down "miracle cures" but increase the probability of improving health by improving diet, lifestyle and all that entails.
Aloha
