Hello Irene,
For people who have the laxative effect or stomach irritation with mag powders and pills, this is what I recommend.
Angstrom Liquid Ionic Magnesium: This non-laxative magnesium is absorbed 100% at the cellular level. Minerals enter cells through channels 5 angstroms wide (about 5 billionth of a meter). We normally rely on plants to break magnesium down to this size. Complete H2O Minerals, http://www.123minerals.com, however, use a process that breaks magnesium down to 5 angstroms. In my experience 72 mg of angstrom magnesium has the same beneficial effect as 750mg of magnesium citrate with no laxative effect.

Aloha

Hello Fran,
I can't prescribe for your asthma, but our asthma friend said he was taking something he got at Walmart.
I don't sell products but recommend the following based on the laxative effect.
Magnesium Citrate Powder: You can find a powdered drink mix at most health food stores called Natural Calm. Add to water for a fizzy soda-like drink sweetened with organic stevia. The dosage is 1 tsp once or twice per day.

Magnesium dimalate is the preferred form if you just want to pop a tablet. www.jigsawhealth.com offers a sustained release form, which can improve absorption. The dosage is 4-6 tablets a day.

Magnesium Oil is a non-laxative form of magnesium. It’s a combination of supersaturated magnesium chloride in distilled water. You can apply ¼ to ½ tsp a day on your body. It will absorb through the skin into your tissues. Good sources include www.globallight.net and www.magneticclay.com.

A relation of mine (lady in her 70's) suffers from asthma all her life. Had to have the ambulance on a number of occasions.
Now diagnosed with COPD. She had tinnitus about twice a week too.
I got her to take 150mg of Magnesium Citrate every day.

Her breathing has greatly improved and her Tinnitus has now completely gone.

I wish she would take more Mg to try an ease her breathing even more, but as I am not a doctor, if anything happened to her I would be in a rather difficult position. Everyone must decide for themselves. I take 400Mg per day. No mote Laryngospasms and no more leg cramps. My wife takes 200Mg...no more cramps and no more insomnia!

I loved the email from the guy who is now taking magnesium for his asthma caused by his pet cats. I too have the same problem and wonder if you can tell me the dose and the type of magnesium he was taking. I have your book, but need to go back to study it again as there are different types of magnesium suggested and I'm not sure what the definitive answer is.

P.S. I suggest your book to everyone I meet who mentions that they have migraines. Love your work and when I can afford your full program, I'll subscribe.

Many thanks, and I hope to hear from you about what type and dose of magnesium to take for asthma.

Magnesium seems to bother my stomach..I mostly use Mag. Malate. I tried Dr. Becker's gel, but it is sticky and doesn't feel like it absorbs.

I was diagnosed with ulcerated colitis and before that any NSAID bothered my stomach. MSM is the only pain supplement that helps.

Any suggestions for mag?
