TV for the Sick

Carolyn Dean MD ND | Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Cartoon of a TV.
When people get sick or are chronically ill they all too often end up spending a detrimental amount of time in front of the TV.

Look at what people do when they have health problems… They often end up sitting in front of a TV.

Every hospital bed has a TV hanging over it.

That time could be spent practicing various methods of mental and spiritual healing.

Now I’m not passing judgment on anybody. I’m not totally against TV. It does offer entertainment and education. If it helps keep you in a good mood while you’re recovering from a cold or injury – that’s great.

But most of us would probably agree – less is better.

When you’re sick try spending more time…

  • sleeping (wear a blindfold – so you can get some rest during daylight hours)
  • meditating, praying or growing spiritually
  • listening to healing CDs
  • reading books (or listen to audio versions) that improve your mind and life

Even if you are physically weak the mind can still be strong. And the mind is the key to developing a strong and vibrant body.
