Fine Tune Your Health Program

Carolyn Dean MD ND | Monday, May 7, 2012

I’ve been chomping at the bit to begin a series of blogs about my upcoming talks at the Health Freedom Expo in Chicago June 15-17, 2012. But the times and titles for my two talks are not yet finalized on the HFE website.

In the meantime, let me fine-tune the points I’ve been making about my personal health program that make them easier to implement. Remember, I’m not telling you what to do, just telling you what I do. If you want much more detailed lifestyle instruction, simply join my Completement Now! Online Wellness Program.

1. Morning Bath
When I take my morning clay bath, I blend one third cup of clay in 32 ounces of water for about 5 seconds to disperse the clay particles in the water and prevent clumping. I do that twice, so I use 2/3rd cup of clay in my bath. Yes, walking up the stairs to the bathtub twice is part of the program. I use LL’s Magnetic Clay and also add 2 cups of Ancient Minerals Magnesium Flakes.

2. Protein Powder
So that my morning protein powder doesn’t clump, I pour 8 ounces of water in my shaker cup, add 2-3 TBSP of Whey Too Good Protein Powder and 1-2 TBSP of a Tropical Traditions Antioxidant Green Powder and immediately shake. If I wait until after adding my angstrom minerals, Natural Calm magnesium, NutraRev and Energy 28, (available at VitaCost.com) sometimes clumping has set in. The 2 for 1 special to purchase this excellent product is still available.

3. Neti Pot
I warm my neti pot with hot water so that I don’t have to go through the trouble of heating the water. I use alkaline filtered water from my Athena Ionic Water Purifier. The recipe is one half tsp salt. Presently I’m using Ancient Secrets Nasal Cleansing salt. It’s non-iodized. And I add one quarter tsp baking soda and 1 drop of tea tree oil OR a pinch of tumeric. I intend to do a daily neti pot cleanse for a long time to help with chronic head pain that I spoke about in a recent blog called Silent Sinusitis.

4. My basic snack. It’s Popcorn. Even for popcorn I avoid the microwave and just pop it in a 4 quart pot on my stove top. I use a few TBSP of Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions to which I add ½ tsp of Cayenne Pepper from Frontier Herbs. I heat the coconut oil on high for about one minute then switch to medium and shake the pot will it’s popping. I almost never get a burnt offering. After popping I add organic butter and sea salt to lightly season.

5. My diet is that of an “O” Blood Type: My protein sources are mainly Whey Too Good protein powder, eggs, lamb, salmon and occasional beef along with some bean, legumes, mozzarella cheese and lots of macadamia nuts. I eat a slice of sprouted bread with my eggs 2-3 times a week. I do eat one other grain- oatmeal 2-3 times a week. I also eat lots of vegetables but only two pieces of fruit a day. Why is that? My next blog will talk about the dangers of too much fructose and sucrose.

Enough about me, what about you? Why not incorporate some healthy practices into your world and tell me how you feel!

Media: May 6, 2012 I did a one-hour interview with the famous Cary Nosler on Wide World of Health.
Yes, it’s about magnesium but as I prepare for Health Freedom Expo June 15-17, I’m gearing up my magnesium knowledge and am amazed at all the new research available. Also, for one of my lectures, I will be sharing the podium with Morley Robbins who is a born-again magnesium fanatic, so I have to be on my toes!

Go to my Organized Wisdom Library which is growing by leaps and bounds and where you will be able to find written, audio and video information for your health. A shout out to Susan for all her hard work!
