He’s a former marine and what I’d call an “extreme” athlete. In his pre-natural health life, he was awarded a fellowship in cardiovascular pharmacology — yes, pharmacology, he was at the top of the pill-pushing totem poll.
He believed in drug therapy 100% until he had to swallow his own medicine…
Working long hours as an emergency ward doctor he had neither time nor energy to exercise. He wasn’t eating properly. He became overweight with all the associated symptoms: High blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis and fatigue.
He went on the typical list of prescription drugs he gave to his own patients. And what did he discover? They made him feel worse.
Fortunately, back when he was studying medicine at the University of Texas, he participated in an exchange program with mainland China. Oriental doctors exposed him to acupuncture, herbs and other traditional treatments. It taught him there could be better a way.
Sadly, Many Doctors Wait Until…
Sadly, many doctors wait until they themselves or a family member get sick before they realize the official regimen doesn’t keep people healthy. It has its merits for short-term traumatic care – but that’s not healthcare.
Dr. Mitchell, after finally experimenting on his own body, came to the conclusion that he was making people worse with these drugs. He realized he better learn something about natural medicine.
That’s when he started to observe a link between yeast and inflammation (that’s how we connected, via the YeastConnection.com).
Anti-Fungal Properties of Modern Medication
Dr. Mitchell’s conducted research where he would take an anti-inflammatory drug and put it on a plate of growing candida. Within minutes the yeast dies. This anti-fungal property of many drugs may explain some of the benefit they have in relieving inflammation.
So, Roby argues, why don’t we quit the expensive and dangerous drug therapy and rely on a safe anti-fungal diet, healthy probiotics and natural anti-fungal herbs?
With gym clothes and stethoscope Dr. Mitchell will join me on Monday, May 11 at 11am CST for a 60-minute discussion about yeast and how it causes arthritis, hormone imbalances and weight gain. Submit your questions below for us to answer.
Did You Know Yeast
Can Cause These
Since we both believe yeast overgrowth is the cause of many of today’s chronic health problems, we are making that the theme of the radio show we’ll be hosting on Monday. In particularly, how yeast overgrowth causes…
- Yeast & Arthritis: We know yeast produces over 178 different toxins. These toxins often start in the gut, but can leak into the bloodstream. They are then dispersed and lodged away in your joints. Your body identifies these toxins and launches an immune reaction against them – AKA inflammation.
- Yeast & Weight Gain: It’s a known fact that if you feed cattle antibiotics it creates weight gain (see Prescription for Trouble: Using Antibiotics to Fatten Livestock) But those extra pounds at the scale aren’t fat or muscle – it’s water retention. The antibiotics encourage yeast overgrowth. Yeast produce toxins. Our bodies (as well as the cow’s), in an effort to dilute the toxins, hold onto more water.
- Yeast & Hormone Imbalance: Yeast toxins can easily start jamming up hormone receptors in the body. This can lead to inflamed thyroids, enlarged prostrates, PMS and perimenopause.
