“Dr. Dean,

Thanks for writing such beautiful and useful articles for the benefit of all of us.

I would like to draw your attention on one particular subject gaining popularity these days. What is your opinion on raw and vegan eating. Is it correct to be fanatic about eating only raw salads and fruits all life and boasting of excellent health which we keep reading these days.”

It seems that a day doesn’t pass that I’m asked to describe the perfect diet. Everyone has a different opinion. Is the best diet: raw, vegan, vegetarian, meat-based, Mediterranean or Eskimo!

Believe me, I do delve into this topic in Future Health Now! I have 47 Vitalizing Food modules in the program. Here is something I added to Module 9 recently.

Module 9: I’ve recently spoken to several Raw food chefs and they tell me there is a growing trend in the Raw movement towards eating raw meat. I find this very “telling”. I wonder if after months or years of eating raw, some people are beginning to notice that something is missing. It would be interesting to see if it’s the “O” blood type people that are craving meat. (According to Dr. James and Peter D’Adamo, “O” blood types do better on an animal-based diet.)

You may think that researchers are going to study all possible diets and find out which one is The Best. Believe me that’s never going to happen. The bottom line is to follow the food plan that feels best to you, not because of some fatalistic pronouncements or miraculous promises. Good wholesome food eaten in variety and with balance seems to work best for most people.
