I tend to receive questions about depression around the holidays. It’s a time when families get jumbled together and are forced to interact, dragging up past hurts and traumas. I don’t treat depression over the phone but refer to a treatment that works offered at Truehope. EMPowerplus is a high potency vitamin/mineral formula for depression that has an 80% effectiveness compared with a JAMA study conclusion that three quarters of the benefit from antidepressants seems to be a placebo effect.
A friend from Canada, Anthony Stephan, felt forced to come up with a solution for two of his children heavily medicated for bipolar disorder. His wife had committed suicide a few years before and Tony was desperate. He spoke with a friend at church, David Hardy, who had spent twenty years as an animal feed formulator. Hardy said that the bipolar behavior of Stephan’s son, Joe, sounded to him like a pig with ear-and-tail-biting syndrome. Furthermore, Hardy told him that some farmers had successfully used a nutritional supplementation program to control the syndrome.
Using Hardy’s extensive knowledge of pig feed supplementation, the two men formulated a human version of the regimen, using human grade supplements. Stephan’s children responded to the formula and were able to discontinue their medications. As they recovered and began to resume healthy lives, word spread through their communities. Stephan and Hardy were happy to share their regimen and soon there were hundreds of people trying this early version of what is now EMPowerplus.
You can read more about the Discovery of EMPowerplus and be amazed at the testimonials and 14 research papers published in peer-reviewed journals showing that much of depression is related to nutritional deficiencies.
For anxiety I often recommend the Linden Method that you can access online. And I’m also exploring The Healing Codes and Healing Codes Program by Drs. Alex Loyd and Ben Johnson. The Codes neutralize negative memories. For me, the Healing Codes provide tools that can be applied to the theories of German New Medicine…which states that physical illness is a result of mental trauma.
All in all, there are many alternative therapies for the mental stress and trauma that affect many of us so that we aren’t forced to take antidepressants that may not work but always produce side effects.
