Magnesium Research Is Solid – Dr. Carolyn Dean MD ND

Magnesium Research Is Solid

February 28, 2012

When the famous magnesium researchers Drs. Burton and Bella Altura agreed to write the foreword to my Magnesium Miracle book, it was with a sense of frustration because their 1,000 magnesium studies haven’t yet woken up the world to the dangers of magnesium deficiency!

The research has and is being done but it never seems to make it to mainstream. It’s simply a matter of translating science-speak to English. For example, here is an amazing study that should change the world, if only it were made accessible to the public. The title of the study is: Mg deficiency results in modulation of serum lipids, glutathione, and NO synthase isozyme activation in cardiovascular tissues: relevance to de novo synthesis of ceramide, serum Mg2+ and atherogenesis.(1)

Translation: Magnesium reduces cholesterol, bolsters the immune system, heals heart tissue, enhances cell signaling, and stops the progression of blocked arteries.

Here’s another breakthrough study: Effects of Elevation of Brain Magnesium on Fear Conditioning, Fear Extinction, and Synaptic Plasticity in the Infralimbic Prefrontal Cortex and Lateral Amygdala.(2)

Translation: Magnesium can reduce fear and anxiety.

There are thousands of studies showing the positive effects of magnesium, but these two are enough to show even the most recalcitrant magnesium critic that Magnesium Is The Answer to many of our chronic health problems.

Here’s a third research paper. Changes in gene expression in the lungs of Mg deficiency mice are related to an inflammation process.(3)

Translation: If you don’t have enough magnesium your lungs can become inflamed causing asthma, allergies, SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) or facilitate formation of lung metastases.

If you haven’t begun taking magnesium – start now. If you haven’t told your entire family about magnesium – do it now. And if you haven’t shared this information with all your Facebook and Twitter friends, tell them that magnesium can change their lives. If you only take one supplement, make it magnesium! And while your at it, spread the good news about magnesium and save a life!
