Fighting off the Madness & Standing up for Hope

June 22, 2012

The title of this blog is from a science fiction book that I’m reading but it describes perfectly what the Health Freedom Expo is all about. I just attended the Chicago Expo and I have dozens of stories that I can blog about. But probably the most important one is how dedicated lawyers are working tirelessly to protect our health freedom.

Diane Miller, straight out of law school, successfully helped to defend a Minnesota farmer from charges of practicing medicine without a license. The farmer developed a “cure” for cancer by injecting blood from a sick person into the udder of a pregnant cow and then giving the “immunized” colostrum to that same person to drink. Simple, safe, effective and individualized. But the cures he demonstrated got him into hot water. Instead of studying his method, medicine sought to destroy him. Please read more about Diane Miller and the National Health Freedom Coalition, whose work is to maintain our freedom of choice in health care person-by-person and state-by-state.

Jonathan Emord is a Constitutional Lawyer with the presence and stature of our Founding Fathers. He is the only attorney in history who has defeated the Food and Drug Administration in federal court on six separate occasions His book Restore the Republic is a must-read. I was on the George Noory panel with Jonathan when he told the story about a single-mother whose daughter was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the kneecap. The surgeon was ready to amputate her whole leg and told the mother she was crazy to think of getting a second opinion because he was the best in his field. He threatened to call Child Services if she did not comply. She fled from his office and found Jonathan who assembled a team of experts. Child Services did get involved and the mother had to go to court to exercise her right to other options. The experts told the Judge that the more prudent path was to do exploratory surgery and determine if the cancer was isolated to the kneecap. If so, the kneecap could be removed and replaced with a prosthesis. Fortunately the Judge decided in favor of the exploratory surgery and a prosthesis was put in place instead of amputation. The girl is now in college and walking around on her own two legs!

Jim Turner has been involved in every major battle concerning food, drug, health, environmental and product-safety matters since the early 1980’s when he worked with Ralph Nader. During his time with Nader he wrote The Chemical Feast: The Nader Report on the Food and Drug Administration and has testified about the dangers of aspartame. Jim was instrumental in the passing of the DSHEA bill that protects our right to dietary supplements. He continues to work non-stop for health freedom through his legal work and his non-profit foundation: Voice for Hope.

Visit and support these lawyers in any way you can. They stand for hope!
