Bad Guidelines for T2 Diabetes – Dr. Carolyn Dean MD ND

Bad Guidelines for T2 Diabetes

August 12, 2018

The guidelines for T2 Diabetes will continue to be bad, in my opinion, until modern medicine adopts the Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting. I’m reading Dr. Jason Fung’s Diabetes Code right now and along comes a Medscape Commentary called “’Really Good’ New Guidelines for T2 Diabetes”? But there is nothing new, they are still all about drugs. They begin with lifestyle and Metformin as it has always been. Then cardiovascular function is assessed and kidney function is measured with the GFR (glomerular filtration rate), which determine the next line of drugs. GLP-1 receptor agonists for people with poor kidney function and SGLT2 inhibitors for normal kidney function.

What would these earnest young doctors who promote this “really good” news think if they knew they were killing people with their advice?

This is a very short blog because if you have diabetes or know anyone that does, you just have to read The Diabetes Code. It’s the most intelligent, most sane, and most complete explanation of why we develop diabetes – too much sugar – and how to cure diabetes – stop eating sugar. It’s a simple cure but it really helps to engage your mind so that you can talk yourself into avoiding sugar every day until it becomes a habit. However, I’ve found that continuing to take all the Completement Formulas except ReStructure while fasting and during the Keto diet makes the experience quite comfortable. You can also add psyllium seed powder and bentonite to soak up the toxins when you fast to avoid detox reactions.

Maybe you have been told by your Diabetologist that you can keep eating sugar, you just have to adjust your insulin to meet the load! But aren’t high sugar and high insulin the very definition of T2 diabetes? Of course they are. And how do you lower both? Stop eating sugar and simple carbs and you don’t produce insulin! Both plummet and voila – no more diabetes – no more drugs – no more doctors’ appointments. Oh, maybe that’s why commonsense doesn’t prevail – it would be bad for the economy!
