Electromagnetic Frequency (EMF) Adjustments

EMF Adjustments

Various factors may prevent you from removing electricity from your sleeping environment. However, there are other ways to protect yourself.

One option is to use an EMF-canceling device (also known as an EMF shield). The small battery-powered devices are reported to create a 180 degree turnaround in EMFs wherever they are placed. Some users have sworn by the benefits of EMF shields, stating that they’ve made a night and day difference in their overall sleep quality. They are also highly recommended if you live near power lines.

What if you live in an apartment building or condo?

The obvious problem with condos and apartment buildings is that even if you power down your bedroom, the bedroom above and beneath you may have an electrical party going on. You may very well be sleeping directly over an electric ceiling fan in the apartment below you. Not to mention the amount of wireless technology that may be bouncing off the walls from everyone’s computers, cellphones, tablets, televisions, etc..

In the end, you can only do your best. You must always think that your best is good enough — because what more can you do?

Investing in an EMF shield may be the wisest choice you can make. If it’s feasible, you may prefer to move to a first floor or top floor apartment at the corner of your building. Or if you are looking for a new apartment, use that criteria in your search. Such a location means you’ll have significantly less EMF exposure. If this option isn’t affordable, or if you have to sleep with electricity, you should make a point to get out in nature – without your laptop, cell phone, or power lines – to help you ground yourself with the earth.

If you can’t do it every day, then maybe just a few hours of hiking on the weekend. That way you are giving your body a break from EMFs. While this may not directly benefit your sleeping, it should still help your overall health.

We know that the electromagnetic fields (or EMFs) produced by electrical devices affect human physiology. In a draft report issued in March 1990, the EPA recommended EMFs be classified as a Class B carcinogen — a “probable human carcinogen” — joining the ranks of formaldehyde, DDT, dioxins, and PCBs.

Obviously, you can’t get away from EMFs because modern technology has intertwined itself in every aspect of life. But you can remove its harmful effects at night and sleep better.

Remove EMF from Your Bedroom

Taking steps to remove all sources of electromagnetic fields from your bedroom will make it possible for your body to get the rest it requires. The reason is that, as we have noted previously, the natural and magnetic activity between our cells slows down at night. By preventing EMFs from entering the bedroom, we allow our bodies to follow their natural sleeping patterns without interference.
