In my 2017 edition of Magnesium Miracle I will pay special to low back pain and magnesium, which I left out of the first editions! Chronic low back pain in ages 18 and above occurs in 13.1% to 20.3% of the population. WebMD says that 80% of adults will at some point in their experience low back pain. They name slipped discs, spinal stenosis and scoliosis as the causes. But these seem to be very extreme reasons for low back pain. The main treatments for back pain are pain meds and muscle relaxants because they know muscles will be in spasm around an area of low back pain. But what if magnesium deficiency causes muscles that are irritated and overworked to go into spasm and that’s the cause of many cases of chronic low back pain?
