The Media Wants Your Brain – from 2014

I originally wrote this article ten years ago and it was actually quite prophetic. In it I talked about nutritional research bouncing around like a drunken sailor because one study funded by the industry would show positive results for their product and unbiased researchers in another study would find the opposite.

That is still happening, but now you’re also bombarded with social media influencers and biohackers giving out the most ridiculous nutritional advice. Take the truly confused brain of someone who thinks it would be a good idea to eat 12 or more bananas a day. Fructose (fruit sugar) has to be metabolized by the liver and is turned into triglycerides and liver glycogen. Too much glycogen in the liver will cause fatty liver disease.

NOTE: Children who drink lots of high fructose corn syrup sodas are developing fatty liver and obesity at an alarming rate.

With dueling studies and individuals who have a platform to proclaim that they have the answer to health and longevity, it seems that we will never come together to fund the nutrition research that really needs to be done. I’ve always thought that we should follow patients who enter a health clinic and are put on a nutrition and lifestyle protocol and see how they improve over a one-year period.

That will never happen because researchers are mainly focused on obtaining research money to do their research, no matter how misguided or unnecessary. Also, most of the research funding now comes from drug companies who will never study nutrients – unless it is to put them down. And the media needs content, the more salacious the better, and doesn’t have any concern about the message it’s giving out.

There’s also the internet TechBody spying on all your Google searches and presenting you with products that you just looked up. It’s kind of creepy.

It’s Up To You

Just like with nutrition and exercise and lifestyle choices, you have to choose whether or not you are going to allow the media to eat your brain. It’s entirely up to you if you want to spend your time and energy on reading political lies or trying to wrap your head around senseless medical research or cries of “the sky is falling.” Actually, it’s just plain gossip.

The definition of gossip is: Casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.

Unfortunately, the constant barrage of media content is mostly untrue and designed to make us vulnerable and unstable and sell us endless products through clever ad campaigns. Social media takes it one step farther by promoting negative news that gets more clicks. It’s designed to make us feel “less than” so that when we buy something we feel “better.” All of which has nothing to do with education even though the media says it has a mandate to “inform” the public.

Stress, Mental Tension and Disease

So, you sample the news (gossip) on YouTube or X (formerly Twitter),  read about a study (that’s just a job for a researcher), or hear about some horrible situation in the world that you can do nothing about. Then you repeat those words and take it into your being and feel vulnerable. That’s the definition of stress. A physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation.

Because you can’t do anything about the horrors that you read about, you’re caught in a constant mental tension that can cause disease.

So, what’s the answer? Take care of yourself, first. Take the advice of the flight attendant who tells you to put on your oxygen mask first before helping someone else. I know it’s difficult and I know most people use the media to distract themselves from their own problems. If someone in the news is suffering more than you, that actually makes you think you’re not doing so badly. It’s the survivor mentality. But that’s hardly a solution.

My solution is to turn off the media and work with great tools like prayer, meditation, EFT, and getting fully saturated in a 60,000ppm picometer magnesium! Everyone could benefit from these “therapies” because we are all under massive stress and most of us don’t even know it or acknowledge it.
