Sayer Ji on his website GreenMedInfo writes a thorough report on pineal calcification as a cause of Alzheimer’s disease. Of course, in my magnesium world any sort of calcification means magnesium deficiency and the treatment is saturation levels of magnesium to overcome the deficiency.

He mentions magnesium in the article but unfortunately most health experts suffer under the misconception that since magnesium causes the laxative effect at high amounts it’s not a viable antidote to calcification. That’s why I keep trying to educate people about picometer, stabilized ionic magnesium (ReMag).

As Sayer Ji says, “Alzheimer’s disease is expanding unchecked throughout the modern world, despite billions spent annually on pharmaceutical interventions… treatment outcomes have revealed them to be an abject failure.”

The notion that Alzheimer’s disease is caused by a lack of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine has fallen by the wayside because acetylcholinesterase inhibitors “have failed miserably to produce anything but momentary palliative improvements, if that.” These drugs are also fraught with serious neurological problems, such as seizures.

How does pineal gland calcification fit into the picture of Alzheimer’s? Apparently this type of calcification is “now found in two-thirds of the adult population” but “its exact causes in each individual case are complex and mostly unknown.”

Well, perhaps not unknown if you consider that 80% of the population is magnesium deficient and therefore magnesium is not available to keep calcium in the bones and away from depositing in soft tissue. We have calcification in all the major arteries of the body so why not in brain structures? There are reports of magnesium-deficient individuals whose carotid artery calcification is dissolving with the use of picometer, ionic magnesium.

Sayer Ji’s following statements confirm that pineal calcification is likely due to magnesium deficiency. He says that a culprit in pineal calcification is fluoride exposure. I’ve often said that the fluoride in water and in drugs can bind with magnesium creating magnesium deficiency symptoms.

He says that pineal calcification can block the secretion of melatonin and lead to insomnia. We know that magnesium is the best treatment for insomnia in cases of magnesium deficiency. So perhaps one of the ways magnesium is working is to help dissolve pineal calcification.

Sayer Ji mentions “a possible role of excess inorganic calcium supplementation (in conjunction with magnesium deficiency) which may drive ectopic calcification, i.e. calcification of soft tissue such as the arteries, breast, prostate, joints, etc.” I say this is absolutely the case and has been proven in countless studies.

He says “Our database contains a list under the ‘Pharmacological Actions‘ index of 165 natural substances with neuroprotective properties.” I say, don’t get distracted with so many possibilities, just start with picometer, ionic magnesium and during your recovery from magnesium deficiency you may have solved many health problems. From there you can add multiple minerals and food-based, methylated B vitamins to add more building blocks for health.

The best diet for brain health is one that lowers insulin levels. I recommend a Ketogenic diet low in carbs and high in fat. See my book, ReSet Your Ideal Weight for a good overview.

Alzheimer’s may be happening in epidemic proportions in our population, but it doesn’t have to be you.
