Mind
Systems: Brain · Mental HealthThe mind is more than memory. Brain health has two sides: 1. How clearly you think and remember as you age, and 2. How steady your mood and stress resilience are day to day. Thinking and Feeling. Both run on the same nutrients: the omega-3 fatty acids the brain is largely built from – yes, we are “fat heads;” the B vitamins behind brain chemistry; and magnesium, the mineral that helps the nervous system chill. This page encompasses cognition and mental wellbeing and the vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids that support normal brain function.

We are both calm and alert. Our friends and relatives think it is just who we are, but it is really how much magnesium we have in reserve.
The systems in this Pillar
Two sides of brain health: how you think, and how you feel.
Brain
Memory, focus, and clear thinking depend on a steady flow of blood bringing nutrients to the brain. Methylation chemistry, from B vitamins and L-methionine maintain brain cells. Add to that the tremendous number of hard-working mitochondria in those cells. Cool Fact: Each of our 86 billion neurons has up to 2 million mitochondria, the tiny factories where Mg-ATP energy molecules are constantly produced. The functions of thinking and feeling can slow down and clog up with age if we don’t keep supplying enough magnesium, B vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids; these are nutrients the brain cannot make on its own.
Mental Health
Yes, mood balance, calmness, and stress resilience are part of brain health. The nervous system leans on magnesium for both energy and calmness; on B vitamins for the chemistry behind a steady mood; and on the omega-3s for both structure and function. These nutrients support normal mood and a normal stress response; they are not a treatment for any condition.
These important brain and mind nutrients are drawn from the Seven-Formula Maui ReSet Bundle, with the mind-support nutrient, Omega-3 Algae A+E, added for the second half of the protocol. Swipe to see each.

The science of nutrition and synergy
The brain is one of the most nutrient-hungry organs in the body, and much of what it needs it cannot make. It is built largely from omega-3 fatty acids. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements summarizes the role of omega-3s in normal brain function. The methylated B vitamins run the chemistry that maintains brain cells and produces the neurotransmitter messengers behind memory and a steady mood.
Magnesium is the action hero of the story. It is necessary for the production of ATP, the energy molecule of the body. In fact, this molecule is designated as Mg-ATP. As noted above, there are two million mitochondria in each of our 86 billion brain neurons working constantly to supply energy to a very active brain. Magnesium supports a calm nervous system and normal sleep, but it is depleted with stress; we run low on it exactly when calm is most needed. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements notes magnesium is a cofactor in hundreds of enzyme systems, including those the nervous system relies on. The updated science on the number of enzyme processes that require magnesium is 600-800, not 325, which is most often quoted. Magnesium supports the normal structure and function that the mind relies on.
Common questions
What does the Mind Pillar cover?
It groups the two sides of brain health that age together: cognition (how clearly you think and remember) and mental wellbeing (your mood, calm, and stress resilience). Both require the same nutrients, the omega-3 fatty acids – the building blocks for neuronal membranes; the methylated B vitamins behind its chemistry; magnesium for energy and a calm nervous system; vitamin D for mood, memory, and cognition.
Which nutrients support the brain and mood?
Omega-3 fatty acids, the structural material the brain is built from; the methylated B vitamins behind its chemistry; magnesium, which supports energy, a calm nervous system and normal sleep; and vitamin D for mood, memory, and cognition.
Can these formulas treat anxiety or depression?
The FDA permits very few health claims for dietary supplements, and none for mental health. These are vitamins and minerals normally found in foods; they are not medicines. They support a calm nervous system, balanced mood, and a normal stress response as part of nutrient sufficiency. They do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anxiety, depression, or any mental-health condition. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified health care practitioner.
Does magnesium really help with stress and sleep?
Magnesium supports a quiet, daytime energy, a calm nervous system, muscle relaxation, and normal sleep. Stress tends to deplete magnesium, so many people run low. Supplying it in an absorbable form can help overcome an exaggerated stress response. Magnesium supports your own rhythm rather than sedating you; it is not a sleep drug.
How does this page relate to the other longevity pages?
This is one of six organ-system Pillar pages. It focuses on how the brain ages and what nutrients support it and may help keep it “young.” For the daily dosage routine and the full seven-formula Maui ReSet Bundle, follow the links below.
