Pace of Aging

Lens: Pace

Some clocks tell you the age of your biological body. DunedinPACE tells you how fast it is aging right now, the speedometer. A score of 1.0 means one year of aging per year, which means that lower is better. DunedinPACE reads your current age rate and is sensitive enough to shift within months, and it often moves before the deeper age clocks do. That makes it the first place a steadier, nutrient sufficient routine tends to show up.

5 of 10

Participants slowed their pace of aging on the DunedinPACE clock over six months. (7 of 10 improved on at least one clock overall.)

Behind that number are ten everyday people, ages 34 to 79. Pace of aging is the leading edge, the measure most likely to move first, so it is where some of the earliest change show up. The full picture, including the participants whose readings held steady or rose, is told on the study page. Click Here. Here are two of them, including one whose story is the reason we tracked pace at all.

Suzanne, 50
Study participant, retested at 6 months
1.00 0.83 DunedinPACE
rate of aging
Biggest pace improvement

Her pace of aging fell from 1.00 to 0.83, from about a year of aging per year dropping almost 20%. Over the same six months she reported a brighter mood and steadier energy. An extended study would likely show an even greater improvement. You can find Suzanne’s story here.

Grace, 53
Study participant, retested at 6 months
0.96 0.83 DunedinPACE

Pace moved first

Grace is the reason pace matters. Her deeper age clocks actually increased over six months, and yet her pace of aging slowed from 0.96 to 0.83. The speedometer often moves first, which is exactly why the study measured all three clocks and reports the full picture. You can find Grace’s story here.

The RnA ReSet nutrients behind it

Pace of aging is a whole body rate, so it reflects optimal daily nutrient intake more than any single ingredient. The full Maui ReSet Bundle leads, with ReAline® for the systems most tied to pace. Omega-3 Algae A+E which is added in Phase 2 is also important for pace of aging. Swipe to see each.

The science of nutrition and synergy

Pace of aging is a whole body rate, so it reflects daily nutrient sufficiency more than any single ingredient. DunedinPACE was built from two decades of within person aging data, and it is a validated blood test that tracks how fast a person is aging, associated with later disability and mortality. The seven formula Maui ReSet Bundle is designed to keep that daily sufficiency in place, with omega-3 and the methylated B vitamins in ReAline added for the systems most closely tied to pace.

Independent research connects nutrition to this clock. In the DO-HEALTH trial, omega-3 slowed several methylation clocks including DunedinPACE over three years. Across large cohorts, higher diet quality is associated with a slower DunedinPACE, the strongest link of any clock studied, and higher folate status tracks with a slower pace while rising homocysteine tracks with a faster one.

These are a mix of one clinical trial and observational cohorts, measured on surrogate pace markers. They are about nutrients and diet rather than this product, and human results vary.

Common questions

What is pace of aging, and how is it different from biological age?

Biological age is a snapshot of how old your body seems right now. Pace of aging, measured by DunedinPACE, is a speedometer for how fast you are aging at this moment. A score near 1.0 is about one year of aging per year, and lower is slower. Because it reads your current rate, it can change sooner than the deeper age clocks.

What is a good DunedinPACE score?

A score of about 1.0 means you are aging roughly one year per calendar year. Below 1.0 suggests a slower pace, and above 1.0 a faster one. It is a trend to watch over time rather than a single verdict, and it responds to lifestyle and nutrition.

Can nutrition really change your pace of aging?

Research associates healthier, nutrient sufficient diets with a slower DunedinPACE, and a clinical trial found that omega-3 slowed this pace clock over three years. These are modest effects, about nutrients and diet rather than this product, and results vary from person to person.

Why did some participants slow their pace while their age clocks rose?

The pace clock is a leading indicator. It often moves before the deeper age clocks, so a person can slow their current rate of aging while the slower moving clocks have not caught up yet. That is why the study tracked all three clocks and reports each one honestly.

Will these formulas lower my biological age?

No. No supplement reverses aging or changes a biological age test on its own, and we will not claim otherwise. The Maui ReSet Bundle supports the normal daily nutrient sufficiency your body runs on, part of a sufficiency minded approach to a healthier pace over time.
